Checklist

Monthly money reset checklist

This is for anyone who wants a short, repeatable month-end review instead of a big overhaul. Plan on 20 to 40 minutes. Tick items as you go, print it, and clear the ticks next month. It is general information, not financial advice.

1. Bills and accounts
2. Spending review
3. Savings and debt
4. Next month

Your ticks are saved only in this browser, on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere. Clear them at the start of each month.

How to use this

Do the review on the same day each month, soon after your last big payday or bill. Work top to bottom. The point is to notice drift while it is small, so a rough check beats a skipped one. If a month went badly, the article on resetting a budget after an expensive month explains how to recover without starting over.

Where this comes from

The structure follows the habits described in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's consumer education material on tracking spending and paying bills on time, arranged here as a checklist. It is a planning aid, not a standard.
